TIP: Traveling Abroad

Two points of interest. First, note that credit card issuers will asses a foreign exchange conversion on your purchases, typically at a slightly inflated rate than that of your bank. This currency conversion fee can be as much as 5% of the purchase. Secondly, you may want to notify your issuer in advance of your travels, such that they do not suspend your card and subsequent purchasing ability as a fraud protection measure.
